Roasting coffee to perfection is truly an art form and Black Coffee Roasting allows Missoulians the unique delight of experiencing it first hand. They bag, package and roast the beans right here at this location on Spruce. Their multitude of flavors and boldness are enough to satisfy even the most picky of coffee drinks. Plus, all of the choices are 100% organic.
In addition to some of the best damn coffee we've ever had the pleasure of drinking, they also have toast. Yeah toast! The bread is baked fresh daily from another local gem – Le Petite Outre – and is served in a variety of ways: ranging from whipped butter with cinnamon and sugar on Italian sourdough, to avocado and olive oil with cracked pepper on sea salt, to almond butter served on the Missoula staple - Birdman Bread. Did I mention that these delicious morsels are all less than $4.00!?
If coffee isn't your thing, don't worry because this place is so much more. They also offer a delicious variety of pastries, teas and even shrubs. What are shrubs you ask? They are a fermented beverage, similar to Kombucha, but much fancier and sure to please any daring palette.
Another reason why we love Black Coffee Roasting, is the fact that they are taking coffee shops back to way that they were meant to be enjoyed– with conversation. You won't find a wifi password at the counter, or people hoarding tables for hours trying to write a last minute paper or respond to an inbox full of emails.Instead, you will find people exchanging actual words– out loud, face to face, the way friendships were meant to be enjoyed.
